Rising Star Games has confirmed that Eldar Saga for the Wii will be released 17 September 2010. They hope that “the game will fill a niche in the current games climate by appealing to Wii owners who are interested in the RPG format.”
Strangely, Eldar Saga starts with a character creation mode, with five basic classes and various other standard choices to make, but the game will then split into two chapters–you start as a man and later take on the role of a female.
Battles take place in real time and players can quest together via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection for co-op gameplay. Jobs are also set to play a big part in the Eldar Saga, with the flexible levelling up system allowing the user to focus on strengths and weaknesses as they see fit.
The RPG genre is one of the least represented the Wii and we’re confident Eldar Saga successfully fills a gap in this market, bringing classic story-driven gameplay. Developer Marvelous Entertainment is renowned for creating immersive gameplay and Eldar Saga is no exception.

Although the niche exists, the Wii has just seen the release of Metroid: Other M and the 17 September will clash with Halo: Reach, making us wonder who will actually buy it.
