Sneak Peek of Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days Released

In this new ‘Behind the Scenes’ video, the first of a series of three, Karsten Lund (Game Director), Rasmus Poulson (Art Director) and Kim Krogh (Multiplayer Game Director) tell us what they’ve been doing to revamp the brutal crime shooter.

Karsten starts off by saying that one of the main aims was to create a “more intense experience … Not only visually looking intense, but it also needs to play intensely.” Here’s hoping that the promise of gameplay that leaves players with “sweaty palms” comes true.

Rasmus talks of the new camera perspective, which is intended to “look like it’s a documentary where some random camera guy is following these guys around through complete mayhem”. I can see it now: At the end of the game, the camera man turns the camera on himself. Panting and sweating profusely, he just stares at the camera. The screen fades to black with the words “This is what we do. BBC.”

However, they say that they “came up with a shortlist of things that needed to be addressed.” This included cover, aiming, AI and an online co-op. All good news as a developer that listens and responds to their community’s comments usually produce far better games.

Matt has been crippled by the gamer disease since he was a small child, but thankfully the emergence of his writing skills have turned this once debilitating illness into something worthwhile.

tbh i hoped either kane or lynch would, especially when you consider that they have “shot everyone first, don’t ask any questions later” personalities. must have a press bullet proof vest on or something. actually, they’d need more than that, maybe bomb disposal armour.
